Every fall, it reminds its customers to digitally switch to the suitable obligatory basic insurance with ease. And in this way, AXA has successfully entered the health insurance market.

AXA wanted to conquer the health insurance market with competent digital experiences and automated processes. It introduced access to self-service portals for end customers in 2016, a time when digital premium calculators were still a novelty. This meant customers could independently configure insurance products, calculate quotes, and take out policies themselves. These features resultantly also changed the advisory landscape. Health insurance advisors needed easy access to these features through a tool that could help them serve their customers better.
AXA therefore planned to develop two apps: one for end customers and one for insurance advisors. Seamlessly connecting the apps to the back office was a complex technical challenge: but fundamental to ensuring an end-to-end digital customer experience.
