Maintaining good health is what everyone wants. But when it comes to choosing health insurance, people decide not only upon the quality of services, but also upon the cost. One thing people don't want though is to spend a long time looking for the best price. This is where SWICA comes in. SWICA allows people to enter their basic personal info and see individual premiums – not only in the calculator but also on the individual product pages. Thanks to the new premium calculator, the organization has greatly improved and optimized the user journey as well as its options for running campaigns and generating leads.

"With the new premium calculator, the number of offers has doubled in comparison to last year. The conversion rate has also increased."
SWICA identified three problems with the existing calculator. First, the chatbot-like calculator wasn’t well received by the users. They complained about it requiring too many clicks to get to the prices. Then there were tracking gaps. It wasn’t always clear which sale was generated by which campaign. And finally, the lead nurturing process involved a lot of manual work. The challenge for the new insurance calculator was therefore not only providing a better user experience but also enabling clean and continuous tracking and semi-automated lead nurturing.
Both the frontend and backend adjustments were instrumental in making the flexible and user centered adjustments in the new calculator. The main focus was on optimized user guidance, better measurability, and ensuring that the leads went to the right place for further processing. We built upon the architecture of the previous insurance calculator by reproducing the existing product logic in the backend and extending it for to the addition of new insurance products. The frontend of the calculator was redesigned to match the CICD and UI of the website and customer portal.
In addition to the calculator, we also built an interface that enabled SWICA to present custom prices to the users elsewhere on the website – for example on the individual product pages. The Rest API was built with possible future extensions in mind. The integration was done with the help of a third-party partner.
