Meetup: “Hacking Fundamentals: Buffer overflows”
On February 13th we organized another meetup in Belgrade! This time, our special guest was our colleague from Zurich, Marco Nembrini, a Software Developer, who has 4+ years of experience as a backend developer. The meetup topic was “Hacking Fundamentals: Buffer overflows”.
We had more than 50 people in our Relax area and Marco explained the basics of a buffer overflow and why it’s such a fundamental exploit technique.
Marco also shared some examples of more advanced exploitation techniques such as heap corruption, return to libC, ROP chains, mitigation bypasses.
