Many wish for a healthier lifestyle but it can be tough to find the right motivation. Health insurers have always known this – and so has ÖKK. Their new gamified health app Simpla supports a healthy way of living, helping users work their way towards their goals through challenges and rewards. With the points they collect, they can buy great gifts in the store. A real win-win situation: customers live healthier lives and ÖKK gets to know their needs better.

Gamification works in great ways, which is why many health insurance companies offer it. However, only those gamification strategies that offer an excellent user experience are successful. ÖKK recognized this and converted the existing Simpla platform into an appealing app. This meant finding the motivation was simply a tap away for ÖKK customers.

MOBILE APP WITH REACT NATIVE

Thanks to React Native, we could develop the app for iOS and Android in one go. A single development team took care of everything: the frontend, the backend, the deployment and the support tools. This approach allowed for a lean implementation.

AN ENTIRE ECOSYSTEM

The Simpla app brings together around fifteen technical partners in one ecosystem: Customers can cook over 800 recipes, complete 100 workouts and yoga exercises, browse inspiring blogs, and relax with guided meditations. Challenges encourage users to browse health-related content or track their progress with connected fitness trackers. With the points collected, users can buy gifts in the integrated store.

ADMIN TOOL

A handy admin tool empowers ÖKK support staff to provide improved customer service. The in-house app also enables ÖKK to manage content and offers in the app.

Thanks to the internal admin tool, ÖKK can offer better customer service.
